“Creativity is more than just a process of invention; it’s the way I address the spaces that are missing — the conversations, voices, and truths the world needs in order to include all of us. My purpose as a creator is to make that world possible.”

Courtney Taylor is a writer, editor, and content creator with a B.A. in English Literature from Agnes Scott College and an M.F.A in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

As a Senior Writer at Hallmark Cards, Courtney writes greeting cards, children’s books, copy for gift product, social media content, video scripts, ad copy, and more. Her work has been nominated for the Greeting Card Association’s Louie Awards and featured on NPR Life Kit, CNN, Black Enterprise, and elsewhere.

Her most recent creative endeavor at Hallmark involves transitioning Mahogany from a card line to a full lifestyle brand for Black consumers. She is the Lead Writer and Community Manager for Mahogany social media where she writes and curates content, manages the Instagram and Facebook accounts, conceptualizes campaigns, develops strategy, and creates live social media content at brand activations.

Courtney also leads at Hallmark as a diversity, equity and inclusion expert. She conducts corporate diversity trainings, product audits, and advises product developers on marginalized identities with the goal of helping the company accurately represent their diverse consumer-base.

Previously, Courtney has written podcast scripts for Spotify and editorial content for publications like For Harriet and Creative Loafing, ATL.
