“Creativity is more than just a process of invention; it’s the way I address the spaces that are missing — the conversations, voices, and truths the world needs in order to include all of us. My purpose as a creator is to make that world possible.”

Courtney Taylor is a writer, editor, and content creator who believes in the power of storytelling. Her experience spans various industries—from podcast scriptwriting at Spotify to editorial work for publications like For Harriet and Creative Loafing ATL.

For eight years, Courtney was a Senior Writer at Hallmark Cards, Inc. where she wrote greeting cards, children’s books, gift product copy, social media content, video scripts, ad copy, and more. Her work at Hallmark has been recognized by the Greeting Card Association’s Louie Awards, NPR Life Kit, CNN, Black Enterprise, and elsewhere.

In 2021, Courtney was part of the team that transitioned Hallmark Mahogany from a card line to a full lifestyle brand for Black consumers. She was Mahogany’s first Lead Writer and Community Manager for social media. In this role, she wrote and curated social media content, managed the Instagram and Facebook accounts, conceptualized campaigns, developed strategy, and created live content at brand activations.

Courtney also served as a Hallmark diversity, equity and inclusion expert, conducting corporate diversity trainings, product audits, and advising product developers on marginalized identities with the goal of helping the company accurately represent their diverse consumer-base.

Today, Courtney is an Assistant Professor of English at Agnes Scott College where she teaches poetry, fiction and nonfiction. Outside of work, she is an award-winning poet and published author.
